Environmental policy
At The Barns, Withygate, we are committed to protecting the environment by embracing sustainable practices throughout our venue. In restoring our beautiful barns, we have repurposed precious materials and ensured that every piece of old oak and stone has been carefully reincorporated into the buildings.
Wherever possible, we have used traditional materials such as lime mortar, lime render, and cob to preserve the integrity of our historic structures while minimising environmental impact. Our heating is powered by a ground-source geothermal system, providing an efficient and eco-friendly way to keep our spaces warm. We also generate renewable energy through a 30kW array of solar panels, which supplies most of our electricity during the summer months.
In addition to using sustainable materials and energy sources, we rely on our own natural water source, ensuring a pure and self-sufficient supply for our venue. By making these conscious choices, we aim to create a wedding venue that not only celebrates love but also respects and preserves the beauty of our natural surroundings.
